North Carolina releases updates on oyster and hard clam management plans

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries has released information regarding the recently approved management measures for oyster and hard clam fisheries. These measures were part of amendments to the respective Fishery Management Plans.

During its May business meeting, the N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission adopted the N.C. Oyster Fishery Management Plan Amendment 5 and the N.C. Hard Clam Fishery Management Plan Amendment 3. To address any questions about these new management measures, staff from the Division of Marine Fisheries have developed informational flyers.
