The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) will gather for a two-day meeting on April 30 and May 1 at the Dare County Government Center, located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo. The regular business meeting is set to commence at 1 p.m. on April 30 and will resume the following day at 9 a.m. Public input is invited on May 1 at 9:15 a.m., with comments possibly restricted to three minutes per individual, at the chairman’s discretion. Attendance is available both in-person and online.

The Coastal Resources Advisory Council (CRAC) will convene separately on April 30 at 9 a.m. in a conference room at the same venue. This meeting requires in-person attendance.

The CRC meeting agenda on April 30 will include consideration of variance requests related to Earnest and Oceanfront Setback and a discussion regarding the Area of Environmental Concern updated form for Ocean Hazard Notice. There will also be analysis and adoption discussions regarding urban waterfronts, the installation of wheat straw bales for sand fencing, and man-made ditches, as well as a public hearing concerning Jockey’s Ridge.

On May 1, the CRC will review beach management plans for Ocean Isle Beach and Carolina Beach, receive litigation updates, and partake in a field trip to the areas of Buxton and Rodanthe.
