NCHSAA announces sites and times for 2026 spring sports championships

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced on Apr. 14 the venues and schedules for its 2026 Spring Sports Championships, with events set to take place at several locations across the state.

The announcement provides athletes, coaches, and fans with important details about where and when each championship event will be held. These annual competitions are a highlight of the high school sports calendar in North Carolina.

Men’s tennis individual championships are scheduled for May 8–9 at four venues: Cary Tennis Park (5A & 6A), North Main Athletic Complex in Holly Springs (1A/2A), Burlington Tennis Center (3A & 4A), and Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center (7A & 8A). The men’s dual team tennis championships will follow on May 15–16 at Burlington Tennis Center, which has hosted these matches regularly since first doing so in 2000. Match schedules for this event will be announced later.

Men’s golf championships are planned for May 11–12 at Gates Four Golf & Country Club in Fayetteville (1A & 2A), Longleaf Golf & Family Club in Southern Pines (3A & 4A), Sapona Golf Club in Lexington (5A & 6A), and Pinehurst No.8 in Pinehurst (7A & 8A).

Outdoor track and field events will run from May 13–16 at Marcus T. Johnson Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, marking a change from the originally scheduled site. Competitions by classification are set as follows: May 13 for classes 2A and 4A; May14 for classes1 Aand3 A;May15forclasses5 Aand7 A;andMay16forclasses6 Aand8 A.

Baseball and softball championships will take place from May27–30.Softball games are slated for Duke University and University of North Carolina at Greensboro, while baseball games will be played at Burlington Athletic Stadium and North Main Athletic Complex.Classification assignments by site have not yet been announced.

Women’s soccer finals are scheduled from May28–30at Durham County Memorial Stadium with match times spread over three days.Men’sand women’s lacrosse championshipswill occuronMay29–30at Moretz Stadium,Lenoir‑Rhyne University.Gamesare scheduled throughout both days.
