NC State’s wrestling team, ranked ninth nationally, will host Buffalo, George Mason, and The Citadel in a series of dual meets at Reynolds Coliseum on Sunday. This event marks the final home competition for NC State in 2025.

Two mats will be used simultaneously throughout the day. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m., and tickets are available for purchase online. Spectators who wish to leave and return must exit through the main entrance and be scanned out.

The schedule begins at 11 a.m., with NC State facing The Citadel on Mat 1 while George Mason takes on Buffalo on Mat 2. At 1 p.m., NC State will wrestle George Mason as The Citadel competes against Buffalo. The final dual meet is set for 3 p.m., with NC State wrestling Buffalo.

NC State’s probable lineup includes several highly ranked athletes: Vincent Robinson (#1 at 125 lbs), Ryan Jack (#6 at 141 lbs), Koy Buesgens (#7 at 149 lbs), Will Denny (#15 at 165 lbs), Matty Singleton (#5 at 174 lbs), and Isaac Trumble (#2 at heavyweight). Seven members of the roster have qualified for the NCAA tournament, including one national champion and four All-Americans. Freshman Will Denny quickly entered national rankings after defeating top opponents Ryder Downey (UNI) and Paddy Gallagher (Ohio State).

Buffalo, George Mason, and The Citadel have also announced their likely lineups for each weight class.

NC State began its season in the top ten of the NWCA preseason rankings for at least nine consecutive years since records began in the 2017-18 season. According to InterMat rankings, eight Wolfpack wrestlers are nationally ranked within their weight classes; five are among the top ten.

Within the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), five teams are currently ranked in the national top twenty-five: Virginia Tech (No. 7), NC State (No. 9), Pittsburgh (No.14), North Carolina (No.16), and Stanford (No.23). There are seven ACC schools with wrestling programs overall.

Last season, NC State shared regular-season honors with Virginia Tech and North Carolina but finished third in the championship tournament after holding sole possession of the ACC trophy from 2019 through 2024. Currently, NC State leads all conference teams with three wrestlers ranked among InterMat’s top five in their respective divisions: Robinson (125 lbs.), Singleton (174 lbs.), and Trumble (285 lbs.). In total, nine ACC wrestlers appear in InterMat’s top ten across all weights; five represent NC State.
