The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) Science Panel will hold a web conference on January 29 at 11 a.m. to discuss the preparation of the “Effects of Hard Structures on Coastlines” report. The panel was assigned this task during the CRC’s November 2025 meeting, where they were asked to evaluate options for managing oceanfront erosion.

The main goal of the upcoming meeting is to develop an outline for the report, which will later be presented to the CRC. The public can listen to the meeting online or by phone. Additionally, a listening station will be available at the N.C. Division of Coastal Management headquarters in Morehead City.

Comments from interested parties can be submitted via email with “Science Panel” in the subject line.

According to the CRC, “The CRC Science Panel provides the commission with scientific data and recommendations pertaining to coastal topics.”
