A Jacksonville man, Carrollton Levon Jenkins, age 36, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges related to sex trafficking and operating a prostitution enterprise. The sentencing was delivered by U.S. District Judge James C. Dever III.

Court documents and evidence presented revealed that Jenkins, identified as a member of the UBN gang, ran a prostitution operation based in Jacksonville, North Carolina from at least January 2017 through April 2022. The operation extended across at least 51 cities in 15 states.

In April 2022, law enforcement executed search warrants at Jenkins’ residence and business locations, seizing multiple phones. Investigators found that Jenkins used social media platforms to advertise illegal sex services and to recruit others into pimping by providing training on how to target and exploit victims.

The investigation determined that Jenkins manipulated and coerced vulnerable women and girls into prostitution using threats, violence, and control tactics. Victims were forced to hand over their earnings and were subjected to repeated sexual exploitation daily.

U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle stated: “This spider, just to make money, exploited these girls and women, exposing them to all manner of disease, depravity and bodily harm. Monsters who prey upon our mothers, daughters, sisters, and granddaughters have no place in our country, certainly not in the Eastern District of North Carolina. The Judge handed down the lengthy and appropriate sentence in this case based on the dedicated work of the FBI, our local partners, and federal prosecutors. The families in the Eastern District are safer because this pimp will spend decades in prison.”

Reid Davis, FBI Special Agent in Charge for North Carolina added: “Children are not a commodity to be traded and exploited. The FBI and our partners will do everything possible to hold offenders accountable who prey on vulnerable people for their own profit.”

The case was investigated by the FBI with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin C. Blondel.
