NC State wrestler Isaac Trumble has been recognized as a Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, according to an April 2 announcement. Trumble, who recently became a national champion, is among 390 scholar-athletes nationwide to receive this honor.

The recognition highlights the importance of balancing academic achievement with athletic success in collegiate sports. The award aims to commend student-athletes who excel both on the mat and in their studies.

NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer said, “These student-athletes have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom. We commend their dedication and the example they set for the sport.”

This is Trumble’s fourth time earning NWCA Scholar All-American honors during his college career, having previously received it in 2025, 2022, and 2021. He becomes the second NC State wrestler in as many years to be named a four-time recipient after Kai Orine achieved that distinction last year.

Nominees are selected based on academic records and results from TrackWrestling. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must meet specific criteria related to athletic performance at national or conference levels combined with minimum grade point averages.

The continued recognition of athletes like Trumble underscores ongoing efforts within college wrestling programs to support both educational goals and competitive excellence.
