Isaac Trumble has been named one of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Co-Wrestlers of the Year, following his victory at the 2026 NCAA Championships in Cleveland, according to a March 31 announcement from the conference.

Trumble, representing NC State, shares this honor with Aden Valencia from Stanford. Both athletes were national champions for their schools during the 2025-26 wrestling season.

A native of Springfield, Nebraska, Trumble completed his sixth and final year with NC State by winning both an ACC title and an NCAA title. He finished his senior year undefeated with a record of 21-0 and achieved a bonus point win rate of over 70 percent. During regular season competition, he secured six victories against ranked opponents—including a win over All-American Nick Feldman from Ohio State.

At the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Trumble dominated the heavyweight bracket by going undefeated through five matches. He defeated Brenan Morgan (Virginia), Brady Colbert (Army), Konner Doucet (Oklahoma State), Taye Ghadiali (Michigan), and Younger Bastida (Iowa State) without conceding a single takedown throughout the tournament.

This marks NC State’s eleventh ACC Wrestler of the Year award and is its sixth under head coach Pat Popolizio. The last time an NC State wrestler earned this distinction was Hayden Hidlay in 2020. Other previous winners include Michael Macchiavello in 2018 and Nick Gwiazdowski in multiple years.

Additionally, three NC State wrestlers—Koy Buesgens at 149 pounds, Matty Singleton at 174 pounds, and Isaac Trumble at heavyweight—were named to the All-ACC team after strong performances at this year’s ACC Championship.
