Isaac Trumble of NC State advanced to the national finals at the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Cleveland on March 20, while teammate Vincent Robinson earned All-American honors for the second consecutive season.

The results highlight a strong showing for NC State wrestling, with Trumble reaching the championship match at 285 pounds and Robinson continuing his success at 125 pounds. Their performances ensure that two members of the team remain in contention as the tournament enters its final day.

Trumble, a sixth-year competitor, secured his spot in the finals after defeating seventh-seed Konner Doucet of Oklahoma State with a 4-0 decision in the quarterfinals. He then clinched a semifinal victory over Michigan’s Taye Ghadiali by scoring a takedown in the closing seconds. Trumble is set to face top-seeded Yonger Bastida of Iowa State in the championship session scheduled for Friday evening.

Robinson battled through the consolation bracket, earning his All-American status by defeating Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca—seeded second—in sudden victory. He continued his run by overcoming Minnesota’s Jore Volk, also in sudden victory. Robinson will next compete against Troy Spratley of Oklahoma State for a chance to wrestle for third place.

Other NC State wrestlers narrowly missed podium finishes. Freshman Will Denny lost an 8-7 decision to Andrew Sparks of Minnesota, while redshirt-junior Matty Singleton was defeated by Michigan’s Beau Mantanona. Ryan Jack concluded his collegiate career after six seasons and will transition into coaching at KD Training Center.

The tournament continues with both Trumble and Robinson representing NC State on its final day.
