The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office announced that Wilmar Osiel Diaz-Alay, an illegal immigrant, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old and attempting to subject the victim to sexual servitude, as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to BustedNewspaper, Diaz-Alay, an 18-year-old male classified as white, was booked by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office on December 19, 2025. Court documents indicate that the arrest involves kidnapping a minor without consent for purposes related to sexual servitude. Due to his undocumented status, an immigration detainer hold has been placed on him.
The Department of Homeland Security reported that over 250 undocumented immigrants were arrested in the Charlotte area during a recent operation. This included individuals with convictions for various offenses such as domestic violence and driving while intoxicated. The operation aimed at removing criminal illegal immigrants who pose risks to communities in North Carolina.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection data reveals that U.S. Border Patrol arrested 17,048 criminal aliens in fiscal year 2024 for offenses including homicide and illegal drug trafficking. These statistics underscore national concerns regarding crimes committed by undocumented immigrants, prompting border security measures to address these issues across the United States.
The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Danny H. Rogers from its new administrative building in Greensboro, provides law enforcement services such as patrols and community programs. The office aims to reduce crime through initiatives like accreditation and re-entry services for inmates, enhancing public safety and quality of life for residents in Guilford County.
