Hogtoberfest set for Oct. 4 at Piedmont Triad Farmers Market

Hogtoberfest is set to take place on Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Robert G. Shaw Piedmont Triad Farmers Market in Colfax, North Carolina. The event marks both North Carolina Pork Month and the 30th anniversary of the farmers market.

The festival will offer live music, food trucks, local breweries and wineries, as well as educational activities suitable for all ages. A variety of vendors are scheduled to participate, including Got to Be NC from Raleigh; Guilford County Extension Master Gardeners; N.C. State Agriculture Institute; NCDA&CS Exports; Visit NC Farms; James River Equipment from Greensboro; N.C. A&T Department of Animal Sciences; N.C. Wine Council; and N.C. Pork Council.

Food options will be provided by several food trucks such as Kuya Bear Food Truck (Winston-Salem), AuraDella Quisine Food Truck (Madison), SPAAG OUT EATZ LLC Food Truck (Stokesdale), Alsies Ice Cream Food Truck (Triad), and Sweet Sips Coffee & Bakery Truck (Lexington).

Additional vendors include Blessed by Elderberries (Oak Ridge), Carolina Packers (Smithfield), Cheerwine (Salisbury), Elder’s Acres (Creedmoor), Happy Hog Sauce Co. (Wake Forest), K-Vegas Nuts (Kernersville), Loverthina’s (Raleigh), MawMaw’s Chicken Pies (Kernersville), Michael’s Exotic Peppers (Marvin), Pave Bakery (Charlotte), Stella Cake Bakery (Cary), Terrestrial Sauce and Spice Co. (Clemmons), Steel String Bakery (Carrboro). Beverage providers include Havoc Brewing (Pittsboro) and Bull City Ciderworks (Greensboro). Wineries participating are Curran Alexander Vineyards and Native Valley Wines from Lexington, along with Stardust Cellars from Wilkesboro.

According to event organizers: “Hogtoberfest celebrates both North Carolina Pork Month and the 30th anniversary of the Robert G. Shaw Piedmont Triad Farmers Market. The event will feature live music, food trucks, local breweries and wineries, Got to Be NC vendors and educational activities for all ages.”

The celebration highlights local agriculture businesses while providing an opportunity for community engagement through entertainment and education.
