The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 41-year-old Eduardo Diaz on eight counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. This arrest followed a CyberTip investigation conducted by the Invictus Task Force.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Diaz’s arrest was initiated by an August 2025 CyberTip referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Invictus Task Force identified Diaz as the suspect and executed a search warrant at a residence in Rural Hall, North Carolina, on November 20, 2025. Diaz was taken into custody without incident and faces eight felony counts. He was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center, where a magistrate set his bond at $3,000,000 and scheduled his first court appearance for November 21, 2025.
The Invictus Task Force includes sheriff’s offices from Forsyth, Randolph, Alamance, and Davidson Counties, along with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations. It aims to identify and prosecute individuals involved in child exploitation and internet-based abuse. Since its inception, the task force has executed numerous warrants across North Carolina, resulting in over 120 arrests related to child sexual abuse material between 2022 and 2025.
Statewide data shows that the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received more than 19,000 CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2024—a 14% increase over the previous year. This rise mirrors national trends with over 36 million CyberTips reported nationwide in 2024.
