FOIA Request to Warren County regarding new or amended contracts on January 16, 2026.

On January 16, 2026, Old North News submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Warren County, North Carolina. The request seeks access to records of all newly executed contracts or amendments entered into by the county between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. Specifically, the request targets contracts in the areas of public works, information technology or digital services, and consulting or professional services.

The media organization emphasized that the request applies only to existing records and requested that these documents be provided in electronic format where possible. Old North News is seeking signed contracts or amendments executed during the specified time period.

Of note within Warren County’s educational landscape: Of 124 junior students taking the science portion of the ACT in Warren County school districts, nine (7.3%) were considered ready for college in the 2022-23 school year.
