FOIA Request to North Carolina State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Old North News have submitted a request under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1. We are seeking a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and general instruction.

Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.

We look forward to receiving this information from the North Carolina State Board of Education in order to continue our work in promoting transparency and accountability within our local government institutions.
