Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will speak at the North Carolina Association of Floodplain Managers annual conference on May 5 in Atlantic Beach. He is also scheduled to present fire service awards later that day at a ceremony in Morehead City.

The events highlight ongoing efforts to address issues related to flood insurance and hurricane preparedness, topics of importance as the region approaches hurricane season. Causey’s participation underscores the role of state officials in supporting both flood management professionals and local fire services.

According to the public schedule, Causey will deliver remarks at 10:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton located at 2717 W. Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach. At noon, he will present awards at the Carteret County Fire Marshal’s Office, located at 3820 Bridges St., Suite D, Morehead City.
