Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has recently shared insights on various educational initiatives and developments via Twitter. The tweets covered topics ranging from theater education and child development to student information system updates.

On April 22, 2025, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools highlighted the impact of theater education through the work of Shawnna Pledger, a certified theater teacher at Greenway Park Elementary. The tweet urges followers to “Delve into the transformative power of theater education with the passionate Shawnna Pledger” along with a link to an accompanying video. This underscores the district’s emphasis on arts education.

Later the same day, an invitation was extended for a Virtual Lunch & Learn session focusing on whole child development. The tweet announced the event, stating, “Join us for an informative session on Whole Child Development and how it impacts student success!” scheduled for April 24, 2025.

On the following day, April 23, 2025, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools informed the public about a major transition in student information systems. The district announced that “Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, all public schools in the state of North Carolina will have transitioned from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus as our new Student Information System (SIS).” This change is part of a broader effort to streamline information management across the state’s schools.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are preparing for the upcoming academic year amid staffing challenges. According to a recent report, the district is seeking nearly 400 teachers to be fully staffed, as more than 2,100 teachers departed last year. The situation poses a concern for students as the school year approaches.
