Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has announced a series of events and resources for families and students, according to recent posts on its official Twitter account.

On March 11, 2026, the district promoted an educational session for families about nicotine use among students. The tweet read: ” Join us for a Family Academy Lunch & Learn! Starting the Conversation: What Families Should Know About Students and Nicotine March 12, 2026 12-1 PM https://t.co/2fNk79R2pO https://t.co/tBReJBTRch”.

The following day, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools highlighted an event focused on supporting individuals with disabilities. In a post dated March 12, 2026, the district stated: “CMS Exceptional Children’s department welcomes you to participate in our Resource Fair to support individuals with disabilities in the areas of advocacy, post-secondary transition, daily living & much more. Don’t miss out! Register at https://t.co/IBcilfc77h https://t.co/Oaut7EK9Ff”.

On March 13, 2026, another announcement was made regarding student reassignment and transfer services. The tweet said: “Reassignment & Transfer Support Event Monday, March 16 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Spaugh Administrative Building 1901 Herbert Spaugh Lane 28208 Services offered: Reassignment/transfer submissions Enrollment Documentation Student placement support Family notifications will begin in May. https://t.co/gz142BeDjy”.

These initiatives come as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools faces ongoing staffing challenges. The district needs nearly 400 teachers to be fully staffed before the start of the school year. Last year, more than 2,100 teachers left their positions within CMS—a situation that district officials do not expect to resolve completely before classes resume (source). This shortfall has raised concerns among students about adequate staffing levels in their schools.
