Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools announced several events and initiatives this week aimed at supporting student enrollment and preparing educators for the upcoming academic year, according to a series of posts on its official Twitter account.
On August 20, the district promoted an upcoming event to help families with registration and back-to-school preparations. “Join us at our final All-Access Enrollment Event! This event is open to anyone needing assistance with registration, enrollment, and getting ready for the first day of school!

Later that day, the district highlighted efforts by its educators to prepare for the new school year. “Kicking off the 2025-26 school year strong! From VR technology and lesson planning to post-secondary exploration, our educators are gearing up to provide the best career-focused learning experiences for our students.

A subsequent post on August 21 informed followers of a change in venue for that day’s enrollment event. “LOCATION CHANGE FOR TODAY’S ENROLLMENT EVENT!

These announcements come as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools faces staffing challenges ahead of the new school year. The district needs just under 400 teachers to be fully staffed after losing more than 2,100 teachers last year. According to human resources officials from CMS, not all positions are expected to be filled before classes begin—a situation that has caused concern among students (source).
