These announcements come as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools faces ongoing staffing challenges. According to CMS human resources officials, nearly 2,100 teachers left the district last year. As reported by WCNC Charlotte (source), the district needs just under 400 teachers before the school year starts to be fully staffed and does not expect to fill all open positions before classes resume.
