Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools highlighted recent achievements and upcoming events in a series of posts on its official social media account, with announcements ranging from student performance milestones to community engagement activities.

On September 3, 2025, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools posted: “CMS celebrates historic 2024-25 student achievement results! A record 89.1% of our schools met or exceeded growth, ranking CMS 10th in NC – our highest ever. These successes are a testament to the dedication of our students, educators, and community. #EndlessPossibilities https://t.co/NXGuOC4xNK”

Later that day, the district invited families and students to an informational session: “Join us September 4 at 12 PM for this week’s Lunch & Learn showcasing the approved digital apps available to all CMS students — at no cost! From navigating Canvas to diving into Minecraft Edu, don’t miss out!

On September 4, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools acknowledged a visit from an international guest: “A huge thank you to Fahad Nazer, Spokesperson of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who visited with faculty, students and school board members at South Academy of International Languages today. Thanks also to the World Affairs Council for coordinating the visit. https://t.co/47c5cdcWer”

These updates come as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools faces ongoing staffing challenges. According to district officials cited by WCNC News, nearly 400 teaching positions remain unfilled ahead of the new academic year after more than 2,100 teachers left last year. The district does not expect all vacancies will be filled before classes begin—a situation that has raised concerns among students (source).

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is one of North Carolina’s largest public school districts and continues efforts both to celebrate student progress and address operational needs.
