Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools announced changes to its progress report distribution and highlighted efforts to encourage girls in STEM, according to posts made on May 1, 2026.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has been facing staffing challenges as it prepares for the upcoming academic year. The district needs nearly 400 teachers to reach full staffing levels after losing over 2,100 teachers last year.
