Charlotte Football Club will finish its four-match regular season road trip with a game against the New England Revolution, according to a May 2 announcement. The match is scheduled for Saturday at Gillette Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Fans can watch the game on Apple TV.
The upcoming match comes after a period of mixed results for Charlotte FC in April. Head Coach Dean Smith said, “I give them the chance that their confidence doesn’t drop too low. I need them to play with confidence. That’s the key to performances.” Smith reflected on recent victories over Philadelphia Union, Charlotte Independence, and New York City FC, as well as challenging games against Nashville SC, Orlando City, and Atlanta United.
The team has made several lineup changes this season due to injuries and scheduling demands. Austrian defender David Schnegg recently replaced injured Harry Toffolo in the backline and has matched captain Ashley Westwood’s five goal contributions across all competitions in fewer minutes played. Schnegg’s attacking approach is expected to work well alongside winger Wilfried Zaha on the left side.
Coach Smith also addressed recent difficulties in offensive play, noting issues with creating space and combining around the penalty area that have limited scoring opportunities. With Zaha returning from injury and Pep Biel contributing offensively, Smith hopes these changes will help restore Charlotte FC’s attacking form.
