Carolina Hurricanes assign Charles Alexis Legault to Chicago Wolves

The Carolina Hurricanes announced on May 4 that defenseman Charles Alexis Legault has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. General Manager Eric Tulsky said Legault, who is 22 years old, played in 12 regular-season games with the Hurricanes during the 2025-26 season, recording two points and a plus-5 rating.

Legault made his National Hockey League debut at Vegas on October 20 and scored his first NHL goal against Buffalo on November 8. He underwent surgery for torn extensor tendons in his right hand after suffering a laceration from a skate blade during a game in Toronto on November 9. In addition to his time with the Hurricanes, Legault played in 24 games this season with Chicago, registering eight points and accumulating 48 penalty minutes. Last season marked his first as a professional player, when he posted fourteen points over sixty-three games for the Wolves.

He was selected by Carolina in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft after playing collegiate hockey at Quinnipiac University, where he recorded thirty-three points across seventy-nine career games and won an NCAA National Championship in 2023.

According to the official website, players such as Eric Staal and Rod Brind’Amour have been recognized by the Carolina Hurricanes Hall of Fame for their contributions. The team also achieved a significant milestone by winning the Stanley Cup in 2006 according to their official website. The Hurricanes play at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, which offers over seven hundred thousand square feet of space including multiple seating levels and amenities such as suites and concession stands according to their official website.
