The Carolina Hurricanes announced on May 3 their schedule for the remainder of the second round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The team will face the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, with Game 1 set to take place at Lenovo Center.
This marks the first time that the Hurricanes and Flyers have met in a postseason series. The Hurricanes secured the top seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing with a record of 53-22-7, totaling 113 points. The Flyers enter as a wild card team, posting a record of 43-27-12 and earning 98 points. Carolina advanced by defeating the Ottawa Senators in the first round, becoming only the third team in National Hockey League history to win a playoff series in eight consecutive postseasons, following Montreal and Philadelphia during earlier decades.
The Lenovo Center serves as home for Carolina’s playoff games. According to the official website, this arena accommodates up to 20,000 people and hosts more than 150 events each year. It features over 700,000 square feet across multiple seating levels and offers various amenities including suites and concession stands.
The economic impact of these events is significant; according to the official website, activities involving the Hurricanes contribute more than $200 million annually to Raleigh’s local economy through games and community engagement initiatives.
The franchise has celebrated notable achievements over its history. According to the official website, Carolina won its first Stanley Cup championship in 2006 and has recognized key contributors such as Eric Staal and Rod Brind’Amour by inducting them into its Hall of Fame.
