Applications are now open for the N.C. State Fair Farm Family of the Day program, which aims to recognize farm families across North Carolina. The initiative, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, is in its fifth year and highlights the contributions of farm families to the state’s agriculture and agribusiness sector.
Nominations and applications will be accepted until September 5. Eligible participants include North Carolina farmers who contribute to the state’s leading industry and have a passion for both farming and the N.C. State Fair. Eleven families will be selected to represent the agricultural community during the fair.
The Farm Family of the Day program acknowledges families who play a role in North Carolina’s $111.1 billion agriculture and agribusiness industry. Selected honorees will receive an N.C. State Fair gift basket, tickets valid on any day of the 2025 fair, ride passes, and additional items from both Tractor Supply Company and the N.C. State Fair.
Families can apply or be nominated through forms available online at https://www.ncagr.gov/public-affairs/tractor-supply-farm-family-day-app… or https://www.ncagr.gov/public-affairs/tractor-supply-farm-family-day-nomination-form/download?attachment.
Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler said, “The State Fair’s earliest beginnings sought to elevate the understanding of new agricultural practices and technology. Helping people make the connection between farming and the food that they enjoy is one of our top missions at the N.C. State Fair each year,” adding, “Thanks to Tractor Supply Company, we can help tell the story of our farmers because they are out there every day working to grow the food, fiber and fuel that we need to survive.”
The 2025 N.C. State Fair is scheduled for October 16-26 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The event features entertainment, rides, games, livestock exhibits, family activities, competitions, vendors, and various foods unique to North Carolina.
