Alaska Air Group Inc. and Bank of America announced on Apr. 21 a multi-year extension of their co-branded credit card agreement, continuing a partnership that has lasted more than three decades.

The renewal aims to deepen the integration between the two companies and expand benefits for millions of travelers who use their co-branded cards. This move is expected to create more value for both firms while enhancing customer experiences as Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines expand globally.

“Bank of America has been a foundational partner to Alaska’s growth over the last few decades,” said Ben Minicucci, Chief Executive Officer of Alaska. “Together, they have helped us build the airline industry’s most generous and valuable loyalty program. Extending this partnership will mean even greater benefits for cardholders, taking them further as Alaska and Hawaiian expand across the globe.” Dean Athanasia, Co-President at Bank of America, said, “Alaska Air Group has been an exceptional partner for more than three decades, and this extension reflects our shared commitment to delivering meaningful value for cardholders. Together, we’re investing in innovation, enhancing the cardholder experience, and supporting the continued growth of the Atmos Rewards platform — while creating long term value for both companies.”

Under this agreement, Bank of America will work toward becoming the single issuer for all Atmos Rewards program co-brand credit cards—a program recently recognized as best Airline Rewards Program by NerdWallet in 2026. Remuneration from these cards grew by 10% in 2025 after launching new products like Summit Visa Infinite Card which offers features such as exclusive lounge access and a Global Companion Award.

The Atmos Rewards portfolio includes multiple cards with varying benefits: The Summit Visa Infinite provides an industry-leading 25,000-point Global Companion Award along with eight annual lounge passes; The Ascent Visa Signature offers access to a $99 Companion Fare plus free checked bags for up to six companions.

Bank of America focuses on environmental, social and governance leadership to address global challenges sustainably according to its official website. The company also aims to improve financial lives by leveraging connections among clients, communities, employees and shareholders according to its official website. Brian Moynihan assumed his role as chairman and chief executive officer in October 2014 after serving as president since January 2010 according to its official website.

Bank of America maintains operations in more than 35 countries to serve global clients through banking services that include investing and asset management offered worldwide according to its official website. It operates within the financial sector providing risk management products alongside traditional banking services as reported by its official site.

The expanded partnership is expected not only to enhance offerings but also accelerate growth beyond previous profit targets outlined in Alaska’s strategy plans.
